Slope Stabilization at the vicinity of waste-treatment facility in Lesvos
During the construction of the waste-treatment facility in Lesvos island in Greece , an uphill slide occurred. Construction works were paused until the excavation front was fully stabilized. In the aftermath of the failure, we have been hired by the Construction Company to re-evaluate the ground-conditions and reassess the global stability of the project ; to design a temporary retaining structure to allow continuation of construction without compromising workers safety; to design permanent stabilization measures and revisit the foundation design of waste-treatment facilities.
